We don’t predict the future. We run its finances.
Matters2 works inside the startups building what’s next — labs, spin-outs and AI-native companies. We bring that vantage point to your leadership team as keynotes, training and ongoing executive advisory, for people who need to see what’s coming and decide where to invest next.
/ Why us
When it has to be right, the work comes to us.
We don’t study the AI economy from the outside — we run finance inside it, week after week, for the founders building what’s next. So when a serious organisation needs more than a polished deck, it comes to the people still in the field. What you get in the room is a first-hand read on how the fastest companies actually run now: what they’ve automated, what they’ve stopped paying for, where the leverage turned out to be. Current, specific, and impossible to fake from a slide.
/ What leaders actually need
The hard part isn’t using the tools. It’s knowing where to bet.
By now your teams can pick up the tools — that part gets easier every month. The expensive question is strategic: what to automate, what to stop buying, where the real leverage is, and how fast it’s all moving. Those calls are hard to make from inside a large organisation, where the frontier arrives late and secondhand. We bring it first-hand — a working view from the companies already running that way — so your next big decision is made with real evidence in the room, not the trade-press version.
/ What we cover
What do you still pay a human for?
AI has changed what’s worth paying people for — what that means for how you hire, what you buy, and how you decide.
The company that remembers how it runs
Half of every fast-moving company lives in its founders’ heads. How startups make the business hold its own knowledge — and why most firms lose theirs when people leave.
Frontier finance
What real-time, AI-wired finance looks like inside a startup — and which parts your organisation can steal this quarter.
45-minute keynote · half-day executive session · recurring training · ongoing executive advisory. In person or remote.
/ From the frontier
Not forecasts — field notes. A few things we’ve seen recently from inside the companies building what’s next. Anonymised, but real.
Three engineers, plus a network of AI agents writing most of the code. The company ships like a team five times its size — and the line that best predicts its pace isn’t payroll, it’s token spend.
Token-maxing — leaning hard into AI usage (billed in “tokens”) to trade compute for headcount: buying output you’d once have had to hire for.
We wired a young company’s tools together so its P&L builds itself, project by project, while the work happens — net margin, not just gross. Most finance teams can’t see net per project even at month-end; this one sees it live. Finance reporting the past is quietly ending.
A startup we run treats ad spend as a loop, not a line item — this month’s profit is engineered into next month’s growth, so net profit sits near zero while revenue compounds. Zero profit looks like failure until you see what it’s building.
/ Who’s in the room
We speak from the field, not the sidelines. Since 2016 we’ve run finance for founder-led companies through raises, expansions, spin-outs and exits — so what we bring into the room is what we saw last week, not a framework from last decade. It makes for a sharper talk, and a far more useful one.
Sessions led by the Managing Partners — Daniela Neiderer (Professor of Practice in Entrepreneurial Finance, Hult International Business School) and Vittorio Cosma (operator across sales, marketing and finance from Milan to Shanghai to London).
/ Ongoing advisory
When one session isn’t enough.
Some questions outlast the workshop. For leadership teams in medium and large organisations, we stay at the table — a Managing Partner on call while you work through the decisions that actually move the business: where to invest next, what to build versus buy, how AI changes the economics, and what each call does to the numbers and the plan. Quarterly executive sessions, a sounding board before big commitments, or a standing review while the change lands — the same people who run the sessions, with the same live view from inside the companies building what’s next, on your side of the table.
