Vittorio Cosma and Daniela Neiderer founded Matters2 in London in 2016 — Vittorio after a decade that ran from Procter & Gamble sales floors to marketing lectures at Politecnico di Milano to operating roles from Milan to Shanghai; Daniela from strategic finance for startups and SMEs. Daniela is Professor of Practice in Entrepreneurial Finance at Hult International Business School — teaching the same question we work on every day: how companies should run in the age of AI. Along the way they kept meeting the same founder: brilliant at the craft, buried by everything behind it.
Their answer became our method: build each client their company’s operating system — the finance, admin and governance infrastructure that runs the business and remembers how it runs, so founders can stay on what they do best. Vittorio and Daniela spent years banging the same drum in public — they mentored founders on the EBRD’s Star Venture Programme and advised at HOLT Xchange — usually about the same thing: democratising data and business intelligence for companies too small to have a data team.
Today Matters2 is a team — bookkeepers, accountants, analysts — with Vittorio and Daniela at the centre of every client relationship. And yes: we are, proudly, huge nerds. Operators who run your back office — not consultants who bill you for advice.

Either way the result is the same: it’s off your desk, and it isn’t your problem anymore.
How we do it differently
We don’t email you spreadsheets. We connect your tools — Xero, QuickBooks, Stripe, Shopify, and the rest of your stack — through real API integrations, so your numbers flow without manual exports. Your stack stays yours — we work on the tools you love, and move you off the ones fighting you, never the other way around. And a team learns how your company actually works: not just your chart of accounts, but the way you quote, invoice, hire, and decide.
